Chris I agree with you except the long bed stuff...unfortunately today, a truck is becoming more of a fashion statement than a tool. And people who make fashion statements are the ones that (generally), want a EC or CC (no offense to anyone on this site who has an EC or CC)

Thats why I fear they may end up getting rid of reg cabs. Not a large enough market any more to justify the cost. Most people, even companies seem to steer towards extra cabs and crew cabs these days. I like my reg cab. Hell, if they do quit making them, it will just make mine an instant classic

I agree, somewhat. I have both....a 91' C1500 RCLB with a 5.7 that does most of my work related stuff. And i have my 03' 2500HD ECSB that is my weekend truck. Although i did have to use it once to load a pallet of sackrete because the lil 1500 would have dragged the ground. Man that truck was still peppy, even with a pallet of sackrete on the back... I hung 12' drywall in the kitchen, i went to all the lots in the area and looked for a 12' bed so i could load them up and close the tailgate. No one seemd to have any trucks with 12' beds though....

I dont see them getting rid of the Reg cab either, they may scale back production a bit, but cant see them getting rid of it. That would be a terrible mistake on thier part.

I have a CC but I opted for it because I travel alot with work and carry alot of stuff in the back seat and the Xtra cab I had wouldnt hold it all so I had to have more room.

It is alot more comfortable for traveling now.

Looks like your wish came true thats a nice looking RCLB
And that rumor was not really true as you can see we have a RC on this truck.

What I like about the reg cab is not only that it looks better, more balanced to me but also that it's shorter. It makes it more maneuverable and easier to park. No doubt it would be nice to have more interior room to put stuff in occasionally but the trade offs just aren't worth it to me. Not to mention the reg cab costs less and is lighter which makes it faster and capable of maybe a little bit better MPG.
