Default 08 5.3l crew cab

Hey guys looking for a little help kinda new to modifying. As of now i have a 08 silverado 1500 crew cab with the 5.3l ly5 motor. Mods i have done are k&n cai, bully dog triple dog programmer, and series 10 flowmaster dumped. Looking for opinions on next mods suggested and cost. Thanks for any help you guys can give.

One more thing, i was looking at headers but all have different things to them like one says no egr and another says no air injection. I live in Houston area so i have to pass emissions so what headers do you suggest and where do you suggest buying them.

1st of get rid of your bully dog programmer and go look for a local hp tuner. and for the headers i would go with pacesetter's thats what i am going to get for my 09 hopefully i can find some with no egr cause they look way better with out that ****.

If you want cats for emissions, go with dynatechs, they come with high flow cats. Also, ditch the flowmaster if you want performance. Go with magnaflow or something.

I talked to the guy at my muffler shop and he told me on the 08s he cant touch the cats unless they have gone bad or the truck is 8yrs old or has 80k miles on it. Anyone else heard of this and if so why is this? I live near Houston in Harris county so emissions is a must to pass inspection.

You can pass emissions with any headers. You just need a tune to get any codes turned off. I prefer to keep the cats to get rid of the smell.

Most exhaust shops won't touch any cats, especially removing them, because they can be fined or something.... You shouldn't need to go to a muffler shop for header installation though.
