What does it really take on a 5.3 motor to "beat a hemi"? I've raced a friend with a ragged hemi 2 door truck and I beat him (no saying too much thought). I just wanted to know what mods people have on their 4.8/5.3/6.0 and have they raced a hemi truck?

it dosnet take much to beat a stock hemi with a 5.3. modded hemi's can get tricky but its still pretty easily done. just costs alot more lol.

I beat one 3 times in a row just a few weeks ago. He is a member here too, we live near each other, he knew it was me, but I didn't till the next day. Although we never got a good long run, they were pretty much all 20-40 MPH roll starts. My ECSB 5.3 against his quad cab hemi. His name is Ross here on the site, but I will say that I didn't own him like I had hoped, I mean I was always ahead of him and pulling away constantly, but it wasn't like I just dusted the hell outta him.

Well and the first run, when I punched it, she downshifted into first and the rear tires spun like hell up through second and I still pulled him pretty soon after. I know he had a CAI and Exhaust, but again we never really got any real decent runs because of traffic so they were just limited to going up to maybe 60-70 MPH in very short bursts.

Yea I had just seen all the stickers that said "Yea, it'll beat a hemi." Didn't really know how fast the trucks were.

I had a guy with a fake SRT10 on 17's with the 5.7 hemi. it was reg. cab 2wd and I had a 2004 ext. cab VHO which this is the first year they had come out. He didn't know what happened. He had about 2k in performance parts on his hemi. I had a tune, CAI, exhaust. He about **** when When I passed him a little sideways.

i've heard that ram's have a lot of drive train loss from the transmission. something like the hemi with 345hp or so only puts down like 260 to the wheels. i might be wrong though.
