Default 105 to 145 amp alt.

Alright, before I get too far into it. Just checking. The 145 is a direct replacement for the 105, right? What about belts?

if your running your 112.5" radix belt you should be fine, of course thats not a gaurantee.

My issue was with the 160A Tahoe Police Package alternator. AFAIK, there are no issues with the 145A alternator, P/N 10464476, except that you may require a slightly longer belt (but maybe not).

Thanks, guys. I forgot I even had it. I just ran across it in the garage! Yeah, I'm running the 112.5" belt that came in the Radix kit. I think I'm going to try a Gatorback belt, just for the hell of it.

What are the advantages for running a bigger Alt?

I'm going to run the ls1 electric fans, and maybe a switch to let my coolant pump on my Radix run for a short time after I shut the key off to let the intercooler coolant cool down on real hot days at the track.

You need it when increasing current draw on your system. Electric fans draw big current. I don't think you'll find a full size GM truck with e-fans that doesn't have a 145A alternator. Next to e-fans, certain stereo setups (ones with larger amps) also need more power.

Just curious. I'm about to put the '05 truck fans on my '04. Do the '05s with the efans come with a 145 amp alternator? I have just the stock load now and with the additional load the efans will place, should I be upgrading? I may wait and see if I have a problem.
