Default 18in Wheel and Tire Options on lowered 2/4 RCSB

Hello everyone,

I have had my wheels for quite some time now and I am just sick of them. I want to be excited about my truck again and give it a new fresh (to me) look. I am lowered 2/4 (spindles/shackles&hangers), although this photo was taken with a full tank of fuel so likely leaning to make it not seem that way.

Currently I have 275/45R20 on 20x8.5 replica wheel. My idea would be to move to a slightly less overall diameter wheel and tire but wider in an 18in.

Has anyone run a 285/45R18 on an 8.5in wide wheel? Seems like a lot of GM 18s have that width. Also seeing a lot of the prerunner guys have Method Race wheels, which are offered in 18x9 and 20x9.5. Anyone have those wheels on a lowered street truck?

Thanks!

. Nice looking truck. You do NOT have a wheel problem.
. BOOST is the solution to your malaise.
Manifold Pressure = FUN

From my personal experience, the selection of 18 inch tires sucks. I run a 275/55 18s on an 18x9.5 on the rear of my truck. (3/4 drop) I previously ran 275/60 18s on the truck when it only had rear shackles.

Agreed on limited 18” tire selection for street truck sizes. I went down to 17s for more options. 20s have an even better selection.

Appreciate all your inputs. I’m beginning to realize that myself re: 18s tire selection and many many calculations on Tire Size Comparison website.

Given I have shackles too and unknown if they’re 16+ or 17+ I may just look for a 20 that I prefer more.

My truck has 18x8.5 wheels and 245/55R18 tires. Enough sidewall to still be comfortable and wide enough for good traction. I just overhauled the suspension completely. I installed 2" drop shackles and its prefect to me. I was going to do 3" Drop spindles in the front and 2"shackles with 2" hangers in the rear. So I wanted larger wheels and smaller tires to avoid any rubbing. The 245 fi the rim pretty well and don't look stretched out. Also they are not too expensive, around $500 new installed.
