nice lt1, price may be a little high, i can pick up lt1s up here for around that, and f-bodys tend to be way overpriced up here, but it may be worth the trade, but I somehow have my doughts

well everyone who has responded or responds in the future thanks for your input / help and happy holidays.

as far as general history of this truck, it is a 87, which is the last year they made this body style. they also changed some things to make them better, but they were pretty minor. the engine is a 6.2L diesel. it is the original motor for the truck. I heard that it was rebuilt from the owner before my uncle, who did the body resotration and then sold it to me. he also rebuilt the tranny and put a shift kit in it.

the transmission is a 700R4 which is a 4 speed with overdrive. (i guess you could think of it like the 4l60e automatic that is in the camaros, but beefed up for a truck)

the lift is a 3 or 4" skyjacker lift kit. the lift is almost brand new, my uncle put it on about a year ago. the suspension is nice and tight. he didnt make it bigger because if you get any bigger, the trucks start to sway and squirm on the highway. I take the truck back and forth on the highway on 3hour long trips going 65-70 and it handles good.

the odometer says something like 75,ooo miles, but the title says that it is not actual or unknown or something like that. my mechanic did some work to the transmission right before i bought it and he said that the odometer cable was not hooked up (probably left off accidentally during the transmission rebuild). he hooked it back up and the odometer is working fine now.

it is a 4x4. the 4x4 is all in very good shape. it is also automatic, so all you have to do is throw a levar instead of getting out in a mess and manually locking the hubs. it works good and is also nice and tight.

the rear end has been rebuilt too. (so has the front also). my uncle put 4:10's in the back, but couldnt find any for the front so he just put the factory set up in it. either way though, the gears are all new. by the way, the ujoints are brand new. i just put new ones in a few weeks ago.

there is a very small amount of rust on the body. luckly, it is on the rear passanger side behind the back wheel and it is not through the paint. so its not very noticable.

it has a couple imperfections, but overall, it is a very good truck. it has a TON of money in it and looks and drives like it does. i get compliments on it ALL the time. most people are very suprised to see a diesel version of this truck, much less a factory diesel, and even less common, it is turbocharged. and even MORE uncommon, it is original 4x4, and even MORE uncommon, it is a very nicely restored silverado.

people who have looked at it are also very suprised to see how clean and nice the interior is. it is all new and in very good shape. (when the truck was painted, it was totally stripped down and the interior was even painted to match. (the front and rear windows are new also).

i could go on and on and on about all the new parts, but i would probably do better to list what has NOT been replaced.

headlights are pretty new too.

it has a good inspection too.
overall, the truck is a good tough reliable truck. these diesels never die and run forever.

that is the info the guy has given m as well as a link to the truck.
