Default 2/4 Drop 22's what tire size

I have a 05 extended cab t has that has a 2/4 drop, 22's, and the tire size is 304/40/22. I have a bad problem with rubbing in the front and the outside of my tire is peeling away. Does anyone have any suggestions on what tire size I should get? I was thinking maybe a 285 or 275/35/22. What do you think?

I think the 285/35/22 is the is not the best choice.

Try a 265/40/22. Slightly taller sidewall makes a big difference in ride quality...

the difference between the 285/35/22 and the 265/40/22 is only .3".

IMO, i think the 285/35/22 will be best.

Thanks for the help. I have been looking around and I think I am going to go with the 285/35/22. I will send out picks when I get new tires.

Actually a 285/35/22 will be 29.8.
265/40/22 will be 30.3.

Thats a half inch. But then whatever...

Well, I was looking at Pirelli, Toyo, and Falken's sites for the specs. Obviously its roughly 1/2 inch.

I dont seem to have a harsh ride problem at all. Ive got a ECSB dropped 3/5 and it rides no different than stock. With the 22's, while the ride is more firm than with the stock wheels, there is a noticeable difference in ride quality between the 35 and 40 series. I know this because ive done a back to back.

For all I know he may be running a 10" wheel and in that case the 265 would be too small, but for running a 9" the 265 is perfect.

I am running a 10" rim. What setup is your 3/5 drop? I have a belltech coil up front and shackle hanger in the back. Will my truck sit any lower once I put the 285/35/22 on? The truck already rides like crap but whatever.

Im using 2" drop spindles with cut stock coils in front, and hangers. shakels and removed overload leaf in back.
I run 22x9 Centerlines with 265/40/22 Falkens. Rides much better than with the 285/35's.

Just my opinion here, but I think the 35 series is just not enough...
