2003 Yukon 5.3 Temp Gauge and LS1 Fans
Our Yukon temp guage has been acting up. Sometimes reading real low, like barely off 160, even in traffic. Then today, within minutes of starting up it jumped over the halfway mark - no way this could have happened for real, the truck was cold and had been sitting for 12+ hours.
Any thoughts on stock replacement for that, or time to just get a Denali / 'buban instrument cluster that would add the trans temp gauge for me as well?
Also, this might be a good time to upgrade the thermostat and fans as well, is the 160' thermostat and LS1 fans still the best way to go there?
Thanks,

mine stays right below 190, that's with LS1 fans, and high only comes on with the A/C on, other wise they're always running on low. The outside temp has not been over 85 yet since the install, but I'm sure that the summer will tell. I've sat in Houston traffic for more than 2 hours, with the A/C cycling on and off, and have yet to see anything over 200.
I did not get a coustom tune, I made up my own harness for less than $25 bucks.
