Default 2008 Silverado 80mph??? huh?

Well my buddy calls me this morning. He works at a Stealership here in Mississippi.
If they arent busy they will go drive around a few vechicles for a few minutes just to run them..
Well it was a 2008 ECSB 5.3 LT 2wd... He said the top speed limiter was 80mph..
Only thing they could find a pattern in is that all the trucks with the General Grabber tires have a 80mph top speed?
The trucks with Goodyears and Bridgestones have the 98mph top speed limiter...

Has anybody seen this?
Im goin to go down there when i get home from North Carolina and read the tune off and see what it says.. This is interesting..

it would make sense. thats the reason they set it there because of the speed rating. but they aren't the grabber UHP are they? that would be weird. i would be pissed if it was set at 80mph. not that i would go faster than that.

i noticed on chevy's website about a week ago when i went to "build your own truck" that you could get an option to have a 70mph speed limiter for fleet vehicles

Maybe they're playing it safe and setting it to match the speed ratings on the tires like mentioned? That's why mine's set to 130...to match the tires.
