2500hd vs hemi

Default 2500hd vs hemi

a guy at work has a 04 1500 hemi quadcab 4x4 with an airaid cai and the biggest piece o crap flowmaster cat back i have ever seen . what do you think? could i beat him with truck and mods in signiture?

ya.. quadcabs are generally dogs out of the hole, i read a thread a while back and jim was talking about how aftermarket exhaust compared to the stock hemi exhaust was practically the same hp and tq rating.. so i'm guessing that flow master is all for noise and not helping him out much if any.

yeah you tan take him, just stall pretty high and go. i ran a 2wd QC the other night and he ran 17.1. you should eat him alive

fyi, stock converter on a 2500HD will brake stall at 2500rpms

I find I am faster stalling to 1500 rpm rather than 2500 rpm in 2WD. Put it in 4WD and stall to 2500 rpm and you should be able to get under 16 sec in the quarter. I just did a G-Tech yesterday and stalled 1500 rpm in 4WD and got an indicated 15.836 sec quarter. That is almost .3 sec faster than in 2WD.

good info, I never did try varying the brake stall rpm to see if one worked better than another
