Default 3.42 gears and low end torque, am i just out of luck?

Long story short, I thought the towing package automatically came with 3.73 gears. Well, I was wrong. Anyways, I dont really have the money to do a gear swap. Is there anything I can do to help with the low end torque? When I m towing, if I hit a hill the truck feels like a dog. Most of the time tow around 4k lbs. I dont care about being fast. Would a tune help with this? I have a k&n drop in filter. Any suggestions or should I just save for the gear swap and be done with it?

I would have to say no, a tune might help a bit but my truck is also equip. with 3.42 and a tune did help some theres no compensation for torque multiplication. Save for some 3.92's.

I had an 05 z71 EC with the L33. I was on 33's with 3.42's. Gas mileage was 23+ on the hwy with the tune. Low end solutuion. 4.10's at the min. I hated having 3.42s, for everyday driving it was great. I know your pain on towing.

I got a great deal on a VMAX. Fixed all my 05's problem areas!! NO LOW END IS NOT IN MY VOCABULARY ANYMORE. No problems or complaints other than mileage. But it is all worth it.
