I WORK FOR THE R&D TEAM FOR GENERAL MOTORS.... I WORK ON CONCEPTS.... NEW DESIGN PARTS FOR GM PERFORMANCE... YOU NAME IT...
WE TRIED TO GET AWAY WITH A 3.5 S/C ON A SOLSTICE, AND A MILD HOOD SCOOP.... WAS REALLY COOL.... BUT NHTSA SAID NO....
WE GOT OWNED BY THE GOVERNMENT... BECAUSE WE CANT RELEASE A CAR UNLESS IT CAN RUN IN ALL 50 STATES.... YES THAT INCLUDES CALIFORNIA....
THATS WHY MOST OF THE COOL IDEAS NEVER MAKE IT...

well being in the gm R&D team is there any way you could find out if we could get a 6l80 to work on a gen 3? maybe an 07 pcm swap( which will proabbly be insane) or anything at all? maybe gm could make some kind of stand alone unit. i know they would definatly have the consumer support.

we are already working on a standalone controller for gm performance similar to the one we presently offer for the 4l60 into older vehicles. the big problem we are running into is the inherent torque management that the transmission relies on to stay alive.
for those of you that will build the hell out of them you will be ok.... but for those just dropping one in... you can see where it could definitely be problem waiting to happen unless we really put some time into getting it perfect....
and also its gotta be user programmable, so that you can set it up for any engine combo.... any rev range... carb or fuel injection...
we want to make it as user friendly as possible...
so that all you will need are a few sensor references, and she'll be ready to run...
any of the guys adding these to older carbureted engines will have to add a few different sensors to the vehicle in order for it to function....
but as a whole if we set it up right it could really be useable...
sorry guys we will have to wait and see

When are they going to release the new SS Silverado with the 6.2L? I'm sure the Denali and Escalade are not the only vehicles to be sporting the 6.2L.
Is the SSS going to happen at all?
