Default 4.8L Crewcabs...how quick?

Anybody run a 05/06' bone stock 4.8L 1500 crewcab 2wd down the strip yet?

I'd guess high 16s. Mine (in sig) ran a 16.12 @ 87.38 on a 65 degree day...30% hum...alt 750'.

I'd say high 16s, low 17s, there some heavy *** trucks, and the 4.8 is slow as hell off the line, I miss my 5.3 so much

My friend ran a 17.3 @ 84.xx with a Flowmaster muffler, K&N filter, throttlebody spacer (which doesn't do anything on the newer trucks), w/ 3.23's and stock tires. His race weight was like 5120 with him in it. It was in Oklahoma in about 90 degree weather...

newer 05/06 4.8l are a bit stronger than these 99-02 motors and 03-04s. I'm willing to bet a real low 16 sec 1/4 mile.

No way a low 16 for a 4.8 stock CC. My 04 is 285hp and I think the newer ones are too. I ran a 16.12 on a really good day (see above) with a lighter truck and a CAI. He didn't specify a rear so it would probably be a 3.23 or 3.42 .

Yeah, forgot to say with 3.23 gear. Chevy is damn near giving these things away, I can get into one for $19000 + TTL. I just don't really want to get into anything slower than what I already have.

the 3.23's are killing those things... some 4.10's or at least 3.73's would do them wonders for the first 1/2 of the track especially...

What about a 5.3? What would a stock one run?

Depends on the gearing but with all other factors the same...maybe 3 tenths better or so...
