Default 411 ecm swap?????????

ok so my friend has a 96 silverado 5.7 vortec and wants to get it tune but no one does it .so some guy told me about the 411 swap ....?????? what is it and what all do you have to do please fellas help me out here thank you in advance

A 411 swap is where someone installs a PCM from an ’01 / ’02 model. While it is feasibly possible, it will require you to set down and re-pin the connectors with your existing harness. Tedious for sure, but very possible and makes for an excellent swap. However in the Houston area there are people that can tune a ’96 thru ’98 black-box PCM, for instance Wheatley comes to mind.

no I called him and he doesnt do 96.only 98 and up

yeah I know thats what I told him but he says he dont do it so im looking does anyone else know where can I get it tuned

black bear does it he did my 96 and it runs great .

but the 96-97 will not allow data logging so like dyno tuneing would be very hard to do because of lack of that ability i am thinking of the 411 swap for that reason .

black box rpm is limited to 5800rpm i think?

0411pcm you can raise it to about whatever you want, datalogging, and overall better pcm, supposed to respond quicker too.
