I haven't seen the specs on it. These 6-speeds were designed to be modular from the very beginning. There are different torque ratings available in two main model families. I would think the 6L80-E and 6L90-E will share many of the same parts with the 90 having more friction surface area and possibly more pinions in the planetaries. Hardened parts in the mix is also likely. I would like to see some specs.
I have to wonder what place a 6L90-E would have in GM's lineup. The Allison already has the high-torque truck appications handled. This must be for a car. The only two cars I can think of needing this are the C6 Z06 and Cadillac Sixteen. As far as I know even the 6L80-E will support the LS7, so that leaves what? Anybody know?
