Default 5.3 Fuel and Year Question

Is the 5.3 from a 2004 Tahoe a return type or return less fuel system?

I bought this engine as a pull out and want to verify the year and size. How do I identify this motor?

the 04 is suppose to be returnless.

02 had cable throttle and return
03 was the year of the DBW and return system.
04 went DBW and returnless

look on the front and rear of the block it should say 4.8/5.3 or 6.0

IF it says 4.8/5.3 its one or the other. no way to tell unless you pull a plug and look inside with a boroscope.
5.3 had dished pistons, 4.8 had flat tops.

No way to tell the year? Mine is a DBW, but it does have a 5/16" connection on the fuel rail. Suppose to be a 2004, but I guess it really doesn't matter.
