5.3L/4L60e in '63 Chevy II
A friend of mine has a 1963 Chevy II. It currently has a 350 and Th350. He is considering going to a 5.3L/4L60E combo with all boltons, camshaft, converter and shift kit. He figures this should be a reliable combo especially in a light weight car as the Chevy II. The car will be more of a cruiser with an occasional trip to the track. A rough estimate would put this car in the low 12s to high 11s in the 1/4 just going by the weight difference from a pickup. He would like to know what would be a fair price for a used 5.3L/4L60e that is in good condition?

$1500-ish...
*edit*
Depends on who/where you get & what you get. Got my setup, complete from top to bottom, with belt-driven accessories, engine harness, & PCM for just over $2K. Someone on here got a 6.0/4L60E for about the same, but not with the acc that I got. Keep checkin the FS section, and/or maybe some of the TX guys (near hi-way auto) will chime in. Seems prices are cheaper in TX.
