600 hp n/a 408
My engine builder called today to talk to me. He put my 408 on his engine dyno, and called to tell me the results.
620 hp. Which is far off from what I wanted.
From people who have been here before... Is this gonna suck? I was planning a 450hp build, then throwing on a Turbo setup to give the power but allow drivability. I'm not gonna complain because i got free labor but this kinda changes up my build I guess. What should I do?
Still supercharge / turbo it and find another DD? Or will this be able to be my DD? I've never driven a 620 NA HP anything before. I've achieved it through FI but never this..
Gonna have the trans beefed up... Again. And a different TC. And i I guess I'll go ahead and find a 14 bolt. Any advice would be great guys!

Ill ask when I talk to him again. It's gotta be high, which sucks because I wanted FI. Whether its turbo or at least spray. I'm not really sure how to build around this now :/
For what it's worth it was a junkyard motor I picked up in '11. Haven't seen the thing in almost 2 years. It's not top priority so it's a bit of a back shelf motor. This is why I got free labor. Forged internals though... Because it was MEANT FOR BOOST, But I figured if its done ill swap the ls1 for it. Why not?

I was just worried :/ I don't wanna drop it in if its too much of a PIA to drive. It'll be fun I know, but in stop go traffic? I was planning around an 88 mm turbo so I need lower compression no doubt. The original plan was for the 408 to go into a trans am. Pulled the ls1, went and bought the 6.0. Engine build took forever so my brother got a 383 striker and dropped it in "for the time being" and wrecked. Leaving me with a 5.3 silverado, LS1, and a 6.0. 6.0 is now a 408 as of today. Ls1 was long ago tucked into the truck. It's relatively stock, so it's tame. The big ol 408 has got me worried.
Just got the pre build jitters, haha.
Should i go on with my turbo plan? Run it NA or just slap some spray on and run it till it pops? It's forged at least.

Ill try to get details soon. Like I said, I haven't seen the engine in almost 2 years, told him it was going in a trans am and I was gonna run high boost.
He doesn't build street cars, mostly track cars. Which is why I'm worried.
