The evap core drain could be clogged. If the drain is clogged the moisture will build up in the case and will mildew causing the **** smell. The drain comes out on the firewall in the engine bay below the drier bottle. Sometimes it is hard to see so it might be easier to spot it from under the truck.

This is quite possible, or it could just be a mold/mildew smell without a clogged drain. I'd recommend replacing the cabin air filter, and getting an automotive ac system deodorizer such as Frigi-Fresh, and spraying it into the HVAC system.

Does it smell like rotten meat (animals/children), **** (****), or like a swamp (mildew in the evaporator)? The first two could be from mice in the evap, or somebody hated the former owner.
