It wouldnt be on there if it were not for my love of camping. I try to get to the mountains as much as i can, and its just so darn easy to throw everything back there and know it will stay dry. Not to mention the dog is not allowed anywhere near my leather seats. Im not crazy about the look, but its about as good as its gonna get as far as a cap is concerned. Its only a six footer so it doesnt weigh to much either.

Justing adding my .2. Tailgate up is a lot better then tailgate down or off. I have 3 trucks 1985 chevy, 1977 gmc, 2003 gmc sierra. All about .1-.15 quicker in the quarter with them up. I will tell you a little racing story about this. I raced a Lt1 in my 1977 chevy pickup. With the tailgate down we were pretty close I beat him by about a car 1/4 but past 100mph he just started walking away. Then the next race same story with the tailgate up except at 100mph I was ahead by 1 car length then just kept on inching away and by 130mph had him by at least 2-3 car lengths. Also I think the faster 1/4 mile you are the more the tailgate up will help you. Just from my experience.

ok, we got some for and some against- anyone else actually have multiple runs with and without the tailgate? I've always ran it with it off. Very curious which is actually better. I would assume less weight in a 1/4mi is most beneficial... but I have no proof.
