Good luck! Hope to see you make it on TV and I hope even more that you can pull off a win (or at least a top 5 finish)

we just got to the hotel room.it was a sweet day. we met lots of cool people and saw lots of cool cars. racing starts tomorrow.

so far it looks like the only car for me to worry about is that 4.2L strait 6 gt47 wagon tha runs low 9's on pump. my class is small block power adder. over all there are at least 4 cars that will be running into the 9's or faster.

the hotrod people took great care of us. it was $150 to enter but then they gave me a couple of t shirts and fed the entire crew of us with some awsume barbecue.

the outdoor life tv crew is here and with only 40-50 cars it seems they are puting everyone in front of the camera. i dont know how much i really want to be on tv so i am going to try and keep geek close since he would love to be talking in front of the camera. no idea who will make the cut and get on the show.

kyle is puting up a ton of pic's and may even have a short clip daily. i will post them up if he gets them done. tomorrow is the test, going for 10.0's and then drive to the next track.

we are keeping track of mileage but i haven't had to buy gas yet. i used about 5/8 of a tank so far for 230 miles so it isn't doing teriable. at least 75 of those miles are with the trailer.

Parish, i'm 14second_4.8 that had the clutch problem puttin in the 6spd in my 4.3 lb w/t. I have always been told you can't tow a trailer or anything for that matter with anything other than a stock torque converter. I believe you have a yank 3000 (+,-) tc and was wondering if its the sheer builup on the 80 trans that can handle it or something else that lets you do it(pull trailers with a high speed stall).

Anyways best of luck to you man, I want to see you on hotrod tv this saturday/sunday morn. Pull out all your stops and get as much attn as possible from the media. Never know who'll be watching , and run with those magnets that's cool as

I've been wanting to ask you, can't you shift to 2wd hi burn out then go back to 4wd hi to make your pass or would the uneven tire heat on your DR's cause a grip/slip situation that might break or deteriorate something? I know traction isnt a huge issue due to that awesome 4wd, but anything that could knock a tenth or so off your et might let you go home with a trophy.

Well, just want to say I'm down here in Louisiana with my crushed truck and I want to see a 9 second pass outta that blue chevy.

One more ? is a 408 really a ''small block''? Or are you saying its the 4.8 that the truck came with?

424 is their break for small/big block.

i can't run nine's i am not legal for that.

you can tow with a tt3000 converter. my stall is tighter than that so no problem there. any looser than a 3000 and i am not sure how much you would want to tow.

the drag week coverage wont be for months i am sure. they are just collecting footage right now.

switching from 4 to 2wd doesn't work. it takes a long time to come out of 4wd.

sorry to hear about your truck, that would suck.

Damn I wish I'd had seen this post earlier. I'd would have showed up to check out all the cars and help out if I could.
