Hey my uncle just got a Hemi 1500 sport 2wd extended cab with 3.93 posi. He is coming down next week and we are going to run them. I will let you know the results. Has anybody raced a Hemi or a Dakota R/T? I would have posted this is kill stories but I thought it would get more replies here. By the way my uncle has owned probably 10 Chevy's and never anything else until now. Damn it GM give us a 345hp 6.0 in the 1500 before you lose even more customers!!!! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Mad]" src="gr_images/icons/mad.gif" />

Most RT Dakotas with a 5.9 only run low 15s unless they've got some serious mods. I spanked a couple in my Tahoe last Friday night at HRP. The Hemi on the other hand, will be a much more serious threat once they get some bolt-on mods...it's that good of a motor.

i've messed with a r/t it was a heads and cam with supposedly 350 rwhp well he couldnt pull on me and that was with nothing but intake they are slow

This thread is just itching for some dakota boys to jump on.

Cant say about the Hemi, but look at the new Truckin magasine at a store. Dont buy it, just look. Its filled with too much dodge stuff. Several pages were covering some dakota event in AZ. Most of the times were in the 14s for the winners - most had nitrous or chargers. They said the times were about a second too high in that elevation. So expect an R/Ts to go in the 13s with power adders. If done correctly and with traction, I'm sure some are in the 12s.

I raced an RT club cab with lots of bolt ons at Ennis. I think he ran right about 15.

A friend of mine here in town just bought a 2WD X-cab Hemi Ram...haven't raced him yet--it's "too new" to race it he says! He pulls his ZX12R behind it (which just went 9.87 @ 151 last Friday in Gainesville! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> )

I've been begging him to race. Based on the Truckin' article, I should put buslengths on him. Can't wait til his trucks broken in.

a friend of mine has a red x-cab that will run a 12.74 @ 109. that is with 150 shot and extensive motor and exhaust work. without the juice, i can push him down the road with my S/C 4.8, well, at least until i blew it up. oops.

I have had two single cab v-8 Dakotas the first was a 97 with the 5.2 auto with exaust,pullies,air intake and trans-go shift kit it ran 15.12@89mph. The second one was a 00 4.7l 5-speed it had a home made air intake and 3:55 gears it ran 15.00@92mph.
