Default Anyone ever done an evaporator core?

Had my buddy put another can of 134 in today since my a/c system won't hold a charge....heard hissing behind the dash...took the cabin filters out and it was coming from in there. Time for a new evap core.

I have my entire f***ing dash taken apart...what a pain in the ***

Spent 4 hours on it today and I haven't even gotten the HVAC module out yet. I wish GM would have designed the evap and heater cores to be more easily accessible. You know it's bad when removing an assembly located on the passenger side requires removal of the steering column and instrument cluster. Here's a crappy cell phone pic.

you are on the right track, just keep taking screws and bolts out till it comes out.... The new trucks and tahoes, you loosen it and it swings over to the drivers side so you can get to the heater case. fun!!!

Sorry to change the subject. What wire did you plug you gauges into so when you turn your headlight the gauges light up? Looks like allot of fun.

That ******* blows man. I just did the heater core in the Ty and I thought it was bad, but it wasn't nearly as bad as your situation. You HAVE to have AC in AZ though.

Mine went out under warranty and they covered it despite my mods. Had to pull the whole dash and my 6 speed shifter handle gave them fits.

Mine went out in the RC. I fixed it alright...
I bought an ECSB and removed the entire AC system out of the RC and made it a weekend warrior. I dont have the patience to remove the whole dash lol!

Got stuck on the heater hoses...is there a special tool to take the fittings off under the hood?

Yeah they make tool for it kinda like a fuel line tool. I did the heater core in y dad's truck last year and it was a little rough but not to bad. Had to take the dash out also.
