Were you coming off of I-10 or I-110? I see you're from P'cola, I'm in Navarre. If the cops in P'cola are bored, imagine the cops in my area. They have nothing to do but write tickets. How can he write you up for an illegal start if you started in your driveway 30 miles ago? I thought illegal start was punching it from a stop sign/red light etc...? I got exhibition driving once for chirping the tires as I pulled away from a checkpoint. If you know what shift your cop is on try to get your court time while he's on patrol. Cops I know only show for tickets after their scheduled shift, it's overtime to be in court after your shift ends. Or wait till he's on nights and schedule it for noon, he ain't waking up to fight your case. If all else fails, when the fine is given don't pay then. Mail a check for $2 over the amount. This will cause a refund check to be issued. When you get it, shred it. The city can't close the file and give you your points until they close the $$ issue. The fine is paid but the points and your tarnished record are in limbo. So I've been told.
