those 20's are huge, they are cool but i think they are too much for me. I am with Gnat, i dont off road but i do live on a dead end street that doesn't get plowed until 2-3 days after a snow, i would love to have a 2wd and drop the weight but then i would be parking 2 blocks from my house every time it snowed.
about the AWD tranzfer case. is it alot lighter? will the AWD hold under alot of power? i have heard 4low is good for a tenth or so in the 1/8mile, also heard that the auto4wd wont hold with alot of power, it will let you smoke the back wheels(NOS out of the hole). on a 4wd truck with auto4wd the quickest et is in auto4wd untill you have too much power then 4high is the way to go. will the AWD hold more than the auto4wd?

is that a 4/6 drop on yur truck? and would you suggest a bigger sidewall tire if the truck isn't going to be dropped anytime soon?

the bfg site says 8 to 9.5, i don't think sport48's rims can be any bigger than 7.5" since they are stock. going down to 7" would probably still work but there might be some crown in the tire.

i would also like to know what other people think here, what is the stock rim size and if it is a 7.5" what are the effects of running this tire?

My tires are 29" in dia. I would suggest no larger than a 31" dia. I 285/60/18 would be just under 31.5". Also the taller thw tire, the more it negatively affects your rear ratio. I do believe stock wheels are 7". They might be 7.5" ,I really don't remember.

i thought they were 7.5 but i just went out and measured one and it sure looks like a 7" rim. will this hurt the tires since they are rated for 8-10" rims?

What will eventually happen is the center will were sooner than the rest of the tire. If you try to conpensate with lower pressure, you make safety an issue. Some tire companys and dealers will not warranty or replace a tire on a non-spec wheel. They will sell you anything you want and install it for you. Just question their policy on that matter.
