Battery Light Came on...

99 silverado...

sitting at light turning left...noticed as i made the turn my battery light came on message area and guages looked to drop...then they went back to normal and batt light went off and all was good....first time happened....

thinking alt getting ready to go...

thoughts?

Go to Auto Zone and have them read for a code. Maybe the alternator.

didn't show a engine light. i have my own obd-ii scanner

truck could use a new belt i am sure...thought about doing as noted and take it to autozone for a alt check first..make sure it is working up to snuff

The alt will not throw a code. Your light will show and your gauge will read lower then normal at idle or low rpms. As time goes on you will simply be running on battery if this occurs too long
