Default Battery relocate without a fuel cell

Anyone ever tried it? I'd like to move it out from under the hood to under the bed somewhere. I'm not looking for any miracles in weight redistribution, but rather to clean up under the hood a bit. I really like how Spoolin's PCM is mounted...so I want to copy it now Would give me a lot of extra room to organize wiring, which is what my truck needs the most.

I would put the battery in a waterproof box to protect it from the elements. Best idea for a spot is here, in front of the right rear tire:

I was thinking about putting mine in the bed basically above where your wanting. I measured and it will fit right behind the wheel well and tailgate.

Yea, I would Like to mount my PCM there as well. But I was wanting to move the battery where the HDs have their 2nd battery on the passenger side. That way I shouldn't have to have a remote cutoff switch for the battery when I go to the track.

I would prefer to have the bed free, because I still use it often enough. Hauling ATVs, etc. I thought about putting the spare tire in the back and putting the battery right in front of the rear bumper, but that still sort of defeats the purpose. Andy, I would move the battery there too, if I didn't have the nitrous stuff there lol

Hmm, I forgot about your nitrous stuff. Lol. I've seen a few pics of where people move the battery to the inside frame rail. Should have plenty of room.

I didnt find the build link, but I did find a bookmark of his picture website things. Here are the battery relocation pics.

I believe he just used a thick/big piece of rubber to make a "inner fender".

If you want to see all the pics of the rest of his truck and build, here it is. Turbo GMC Sonoma

That Sonoma is really cool, I might do that. NHRA reg says you have to have a battery cut off switch accessible from the rearmost exterior of the vehicle. Does anyone know if that means visible from the outside, or can it be obscured, out of sight? Still easy to get to, but not easy to see..

Has to be visible form the outside. One of my coworkers used to have a ralleyart with a relocated battery. He put his cut off behind the tail lamp and removed the lamp at the track.
