Battery Voltage fluctuation?

I was under the impression the amp sensor was also the backup battery for the radio and other systems. Disconnecting the connector would make your radio go to code if your battery dies.

negative the radio only goes into theftlock if the VIN's do not match from radio to BCM during a key on cycle. The 96-02 trucks were the only ones with the manually entered theftlock code.
