Default Best lowering method?

I bought my '01 Silverado new, and since then I've been watching to see if there is any one way that seems best to lower my truck.
I don't want to go the air ride route, I want to go with regular parts to get the job done.
I've used Belltech before and found their committment to the customer to be top notch. However, I think they've been bought out, and who knows how the new owners feel about things like service, assistance, quality, etc...
Mcgaughy's has a 3/5 drop that looks good, but i've not had any contact with anyone who's used their parts before.
DJM also looks to be OK, but again, who knows what they're like to deal with after the sale?
So this brings me to all of you. Who makes good stuff. I think I want to go with about either a 3/5 or 3/4 drop. Who do you guys recommend?

Maybe some guys could list different 2wd and 4x4 methods that have been proven to work also...

It all depend on who you talk to in the customer service department as to how good the service is. That being said, McGaughy's and DJM are both pretty good; you can get by with a 3 in. drop coil for the front but McGaughy's spindles with a 1 in. drop coil will give a better ride. The rear will require shackles and hangers which would probably be the same between the two companies.

McGaughys, DJM, Hotchkis are make good stuff. Belltech is still okay, but don't use their spindles.

mcgaughy's period. I have their 2/4 kit (spindles/hangers/shackles) and I have been very happy. Rides just like stock. Make sure you get a good drop shock for the rear.....it does make a difference.

I am happy with my djm 4/6 kit. It uses control arms up front and a flip kit and cnotch in the back. The ride is factory like since the springs are still stock. I have also heard many good things about mcgaughy's as far as quality and customer service. Belltech makes good products, but most don't like them on the nbs trucks.

If you are concerned with it sitting level, a 3/4 isn't for you. A 3/5 drop looks nice, I actually considered doing it, but it is an ackward drop as far as parts. I have seen a 3/6 and it sits level and looks nice too!

I went with DJM 2/4 CalMax kit, it rides great. The only thing i really don't like is it really shows the Chevy Lean.

Default Thanks

I appreciate the help you guys are offering. From the sounds of things, either DJM or McGaughy's will do the job. As for my final goal, I want it to have a little forward rake for attitude purposes, so now it's just figuring out how much I want to end up with. I recently had to get tires and had to rush the decision as both rears had multiple puncture/plug damage and were continuing to leak. I'm running the later model GM 5-spoke aluminum wheel with 235-65x17 on the front, and 275-60x17's on the back. Combined with the drop I go to, I want my final goal to have a little of the "old-school-rod" look to it.
Thanks again for all the help, and any more yoou care to offer.
