i have said this before, i would like parish to run it on a dyno and see what it would put out.
gas for our trucks is at 87, 89, 93 were i live, may be a little diffrent for some of you, race fuel at the track a little pricy but higher oct.
airplanes run on a much higher oct for fuel for the altitude they fly at, im talking around 110 and 115 oct to burn with thin air, two types of fuel , 1 red 2 blue, i ran the red at 110 oct, it is allot better then the 104 you get at the track, the fuel is dry so a 25/75 mix of 93/110 will work wonders.
i have not bought the airplane fuel for 6 years and that is the last time i ran at hrp.

Maybe you guys can help me out. I'm confused. Again... My truck has a history of pinging at WOT. I add a bottle of octane booster and it stops pinging. I believe pinging will hurt your track times. If the octane booster stops the pinging, then the octane booster would be of benefit on the track. Am I just delusional?

Nativetexan- I remember reading in a car magazine where they did test different fuels and octane booster. Yes, if you are pinging now and you add octane booster which slows the burn rate down and makes the pinging go away you will have more power. I've rode in many cars where it was pinging and we added 2 bottles of an octane booster and it did quit pinging.
But one the other hand- you could possibly make even more power by adding the right octane fuel.
Octane booster doesn't really compare to running race fuel, (but in some cases gets the job done) if it did, every race car at the track would run it instead of $4-$5 a gallon fuel.
