from what i have read most "octane booster" is just xylene, tolulene and some kind of lube. it is expensive and doesn't give you much added octane. i dont know about that torco stuff.

i was running xylene in my last truck, dumped it in 5 gallons at a time. it did allow me to run at least 3 psi more boost but i lake the race fuel better.

i would just get the best fuel you can and stick with that. if you see knock retard then adjust your tune to get rid of it. the hp diference you will see messing with more octane wont be worth the money. just run the pump and save your pennys for your next mod. if your boosted then more octane kicks ***. a jump from 92 octane up to 100octane may allow you to run 50+hp more but NA there just isn't that much gain to be seen.

my setup is na 5.3 Im just trying to tune in the setup I have and having alot of problems
I only gained 30 rwhp the thing runs fine now its just Ive milled so much .050 that at 24 degrees i had pinging and had to back off timing. my compression ratio should be 10.4:1 so I cant figure it.
the dyno curves look fine and are what I expected for the rpms range and cam selection the only thing is the gain is minimal I should have alot more timing though. It could be my setup is fine I was thinking the valves werent opening enough but it could be I just cant add enough timing due to pinging because of milling so much. I really wish I could figure this out its driving me nuts and I need to eliminate some of the variables, If I could get race gas that would solve one problem and I could throw more timing at it.

hmm, forget all of what i said above. i really dont know much about tuning a high compresion motor. for that it might just be worth the extra octane, not sure.
