Greetings,

Time to upgrade my front brakes. It's a 2000 Silverado 4wd standard cab shortbox with 5.3. I put 22's on the truck and the 12" rotors up front look ridiculous! Without spending the cash on a full-on big brake kit I'd like to go as big as possible. I'm looking at the Baer Eradispeed setup. They give you new rotors and spacers for your calipers.

The 99-04 kit comes with a 14" rotor. The 05-14 kit comes with a 15" rotor. It appears as though both trucks use the same factory rotor, caliper and spindle. Why wouldn't the 15" setup work on my 2000? I verified the interchangeability via autozone's website. Both vehicles take the same replacement rotors and calipers (with rear disc brake option). On Belltech's website, both trucks use the same 4wd drop spindle. Mounting locations should be the same? Rotors should end up being in the exact same spot? Calipers should be in the exact same spot? Baer had no clue why they manufacture two different parts- just that GM made a change between the two styles of truck. What am I missing? For $900 a 15" setup on the front would be nice!

On Wilwood's site they spec the exact same part number for the 2000 and 2005 Silverado. And this seems to indicate that the same kit works clear up until 2018: https://www.wilwood.com/BrakeKits/Br...no=140-13876-R

I'm thinking the different part numbers for the eradispeed have to do with wheel diameters commonly found on the older trucks. In 2000 18's were huge whereas only a few years later 22's were coming stock on vehicles. Thoughts?

Wait, I thought you could upgrade the brake/rotors from the newer trucks with off-the-shelf OEM parts? Does OP really need a "kit" with aftermarket stuff? Or did I miss something?

@strutaeng You can't get a 15" rotor that retains the stock caliper. I think OP should have just said he wanted to go as big as possible as cheap as possible.

I highly doubt it has to do with 20s becoming more common on pickups. I don't know why there are two part numbers though, very strange. Honestly I would not just do 15" rotors with a stock caliper, I'd just save up to buy a full kit.

I truly have no idea. In my mind if all the parts are interchangeable then the upgrade from eradispeed should fit both. Money's not a huge issue. Spending more on this truck when I have a new Z06 coming is. According to the wife that is. Lol

I think that they should be interchangeable but I can't say for certain. I will say that the caliper is different between those year sets but the split is wrong, 99-02 had one caliper and then 03-07 had another.

There are BBK factory upgrades to be had.
