body and paint work, or engine/trans work first?
ok... so i found this 2001 ex-cab z71 with 109k miles for $8795. now i dont know if this is a good deal but for yall but to find one for that price here is great!.. its in good condition, only thing is the milage... any way, i plan on swapping the engine n tranny and also doing some body work like bumper/roll pan etc.. now, would it be wise to get the body work done before the engine/trans and risk the chance of dyin on me? or should i have the body and paint done while the engine is out and being swapped?
my main concern is that the whole body is painted, even under the hood... ive seen some nice paint jobs on the exterior, but when u pop the hood, the old color is still there...
suggestions?

I think it depends on what kind of paint job you're going for. If it's going to be a very nice exterior job do the engine and trans work fist so you don't have to stress about nicks and scratches doing the engine. If it's going to and inside and out job then take the engine and trans out so you can paint and detail the engine bay and give it a good undercoating. If you are throwing on a $300 overcoat then do it in any order you see fit. Sounds like you want it to look nice. It's really easy to mess up a paint job doing engine work, so get that out of the way first in my opinion.
