I guess you guys forgot about the later 706 heads... and some of the deffect 243 heads...

Exactly!!! You never know the true history on used parts and If they were over heated you could be in serious trouble.

wish i had pressure checked my 706 heads before i spent near 300 for a level and regasket. it could have been better spent on a cam for the subsequent 6.0.

Yes pressure check them, you never know with used parts.

Do it right and do it once. Or cheap out, be lazy and half *** it 3 or 4 times. Your choice.

Thats my reason for asking I know casting has come a long way but all it takes is one good overheat to crack a port on the in side and a lot of money can be wasted to find out the wrong way. I originally asked because ten yrs ago when I would put a block together it was common practice because UD look like a real *** if the head u just spent a cust. Money on where no go . But either way any feedback is good feed back some people have been lucky and never had a bad head that's was suppose to be good. ( now that statement proir can definitly be twisted)Thanx again to everyones replies.
