Bought a new truck

I'm wondering if I made a mistake? When I ordered my new ECSB 2WD Silverado I had a choice to get the B4V (LQ9, M32, 3.73's 9.5" rear and 20 inch wheels) or the NHT (LQ9, M70, 4.10's 9.5" rear but no 20 inch wheels where available). As soon as I added the 20" wheels to the NHT the option changed to B4V? Dealer says that maybe GM doesn't think the 20 inchers will hold up to the towing capacity of the NHT equipped truck? I realized that with the 20 inchers I have a lower highway cruising rpm by about 200 or 250 rpm but I wasn't thinking about that when I ordered it. I can't find any literature that's consistant when I look up towing capacity for this truck. Some of it says 8500 and some says 10,000? I really like the truck but I'm thinkin maybe I should have gone for the M70 and 4.10's and bought the 20 inchers later but the 20 inchers with the tires would have cost me large. Oh well I pulled my loaded 8500 pound car hauler with my 92 ECSB Sierra with a 350 (5.7) 3.73's and a 700R4 tranny for 10 years without a problem. The 4L65 should hold up.

Good news is they're installing my brakes and wheels today and it'll be ready in the morning for delivery.

Good luck with your new truck. That's what I'm talking about. The consumer guide says one thing, the 2006 towing guide doesn't even have my combo in it!. The order guide at the dealer says something different and the computer order program they use to order the truck says something else. I've got amounts from 8500 to 10,000 lbs. I think I'll add them up and devide by four and get an average. The M70 is a new tranny this year. I've had the same trouble finding out exactly what it is as I have with the towing info. I'm an ex GM tech and I know a few people at my local dealer that should know this stuff. All they do is shrug their shoulders??????

The people at the dealerships know half of what the crew around here knows!
I told the owner and GM at the dealership exactly whatt I wanted and they kept saying "Oh, you want a Silverado SS". And, I had to show them and explain to them the Performance Package 1500, myself. I was told by another dealer that the M70 is, "A 4L60 with a larger TC and extra cluthches, designed to handle the extra torque of that motor".
I'll check my specs when I get home tonight but I think that the 2WD is rated for 8500lbs and is only available with 373 gears.

Congrats! I hope you dont have them in the rear 06 is DRUM.
