This is directly out of the GM order guide (from the dealers computer) for a 2WD order.

RPO B4V
SILVERADO PERFORMANCE PACKAGE -Inc. "VortecMax" badging on door,"VortecMax" engine coverlable, Vortec 6000 SFI V8, M32 HD 4-Speed auto trans w/cooling system, Z60 high performance suspension pkg. P275/55R20 all-season BSW tires w/P265/70R17 all-season BSW spare (REQ: GT4 3.73 Axle, G80 Locking Differential, ZY1 Solid Paint, NW7 Traction Assist, UK3 Steering Wheel Audio Controls) (N/A w/R6M Silverado Fleetside Special Edition Pkg., R6D Vortec 5300 V8 Heavy Hauler Pkg, B2E 20" Wheel Pkg, NHT Vortec Max Performance Pkg. DPN Mirrors, or SEO options)

It doesn't say HD 9.5" rear axle, KC4 engine oil cooling system, or Q4B 6200 lb (2812kg) GVWR but my truck comes with it.

RPO NHT
VORTEC MAX PERFORMANCE PKG. -Inc. "VortecMax" door badge & "VortecMax" engine cover lable, HD 9.5" rear axle, KC4 engine oil cooling system, Q4B 6200 lb. (2812kg) GVWR, 6.0L SFI V8 engine, M70 4-speed auto super duty trans, ride control suspension pkg, 4.10 axle ratio, locking differential, P265/70R17 on/off-road BSW tires w/matching spare, HD trailering special equipment (N/A w/ZY2 Two Tone Paint, NW& Traction Assist) *GROSS*

I don't know what *GROSS* means and neither did my dealer.

I've underlined some of the obvious differences, but what I would like to find out is.

A) All of the 1500's I've seen have coil springs and rack and pinion steering. Mine has a steering box and torsion bar suspension like a 4X4 I think this is part of the "Performance suspension pkg"?

B) The frame looks heavier? Is it?

C) Does a 2WD 1500 with the NHT option have this type of suspension or does it have coils and rack and pinion? You can't order Z60 with NHT

D) I couldn't order a Z82 trailering package unless I ordered a Leather interior??? At first we thought it was because of the 20" wheels because as soon as the sales man clicked on the B2E 20" Wheel package the Z82 disappeared. Later while screwing around with the order program we tried the LT package with all other things equal and it allowed us to add the Z82. Take away the leather and go back to the LS and Z82 was gone.

E) NO WHERE can I find the towing capacity for this specific truck! The NHT package with a 2WD or 4WD says 10,400 lbs. And a similar truck with a 5.3 and a M30 and a 3.73 with the Z60 Performance suspension says 8500 lbs. I guess my truck is somewhere in between?

I was glad about this possible computer glitch for the Z82 because my truck already had the Engine oil cooler, the tranny cooler and the complete 8 lead trailering harness so I ordered a hitch kit from the parts department for $178.00 and it included everything. a 12000lb hitch exactly like the factory hitch, Underdash brake controller harness, Plug adaptor for the four wire setup, the 7 lead socket and all of the mounting hardware. The Z82 package if I could have ordered it would have cost me $475.00!!!

Don't forget this is all aimed at a 2WD order. I don't think a 4WD order would be the same.
