Default buttons worn on 6disc changer

any way to get new buttons on the cd player? i got my truck used the other day and there gone pretty much. the dealer said they cant order them but they might be able to pull out a defective unit next time one comes throught but who knows how long that will be?

Unfortunetly,you can't just replace the buttons your're gonna need the whole head unit. I think they go for like $300 bucks or so.

damn...are they all interchangeable? i see a bunch of pullouts on ebay from h2's those would work right?

The thing is they are interchangeable but might not work because they go by different part numbers for all GM vehicles. If it's out of a different car and going into your truck for example it would probably have the same connection harness but wont power up.

if it's for the 03 in your signature then it would have to be reprogrammed regardless at install. The radios in the 03+ trucks are VIN locked (or BCM locked, whatever) and they are not interchangeable even between identical trucks without a reprogram by a GM dealer.

damn...that blows...so my only option is about 500 dollars just for worn buttons?

Unfortunelty, Pretty much S.O.L with the radio buttons. There are some that can be replaced but not all like the pre-set buttons.


The other buttons I've seen that are worn out and can be replaced are the steering wheel control buttons.
