carpet cleaning

Removal isn't that hard....as long as your willing to remove ALL of the interior parts that lay over it (not really necessary for removal......but essential for putting it back in)
I'd just rent a carpet steamer with a hand-attachment and clean it that way

i have a little green machine that i purchased for my wife a few years ago. that thing is awesome at cleaning carpet. i go do mine about twice a year. it wont' get between the seat and console obviously but it allows you to hit the main areas while keeping the carpet in the truck.
the new versions have heaters that keep the water hot. it will retail at around 50 or 60 bucks but it's well worth it.
