Default CDT's vs. Focal's ??

I'm looking at the carbon fiber CDT ef-61cf.
And the Focal 165v2 polyglass.

What to buy? Both these are about $200 set. I've heard the CDT's and love them but never heard the Focals. My friend who has heard both back to back swears the Focals are the greatest things ever. I don't like ear piercing highs, more interested in smooth sound and powerfull midbass. Help me out. Will be ran off a RF P3002 (75RMS x 2 @4)

I like my CDT's, although I do think my old MB-Quarts were better. I am not saying that the CDT's are bad, just not the "amazing" that I have heard. I am sure my mounting has something to do with that. I just have them in the stock location. I do not know if this helps at all!

Focals are nice, so were the old DynAudio house speakers that everyone used to use. I would listen to the Diamond Audios if you get a chance also. I love em and the fact that both of my buddies that judge the IASCA and Sony shows in our area and the finals both use the Diamond Audio Hex speakers now kinda tells me I am not the only one who thinks they sound nice.

The cool thing with them is you can get a silk or aluminum dome tweeter in both their Hex and M6 series. So if you like the archtypical MB Quart sound with tons of tinny sounding highs then you can get it or if you like a smoother response you can get that too
