Hey brotha' , after spending an hour online with GM, I could not find any TSB or Information Bulletin on Excessive Wear on the rear brake drums. Unfortunately, this is a common problem. I've got 12 pairs of drums in my warranty room and GM has declined to pay for because they are placing blame on the customers not driving the vehicle enough to prohibit rust from forming. Which in turn they say "causes the surface of the drum and rotor to pit and crack, therefore causing the drum/rotor to loose it's stopping surface area".....but I call

I take it that means they cracked open my transmission but didn't rebuild it. That doesn't make me feel any better about the copper and silver colored shavings that came out when I changed the fluid and filter last week. There was more than I'm used to seeing in an auto. Replacing the sunshell is a cheap way for GM to not ahve to warranty the whole tranny. Yeah you'll probably have some problems down the road. I've never seen this done and wokr correctly thereafter.
