Yours hasn't been involved in the re-call yet. It will be in the next phase sometime later this year. Keep in mind how many they have to do.

No open re-calls, but you got a bit of a service history there. Look over it before you ever make a repair because some may be covered by an existing parts warranty.

Default Thanks

Thank you so much, that is very kind of you to do. Yeah I take advantage of my extended warranty as you can see haha. But hey I paid for it so now GM has to follow up with their end. Since you are a GM trained tech, could you tell me if I should go to a dealer and pay about 130-160 for a full cooling system drain, flush, and refill when other shops that are fairly reputable will do the same thing for about 80-120? Are the machines used at all different? I know the tech's are always better for the most part at dealer's and its always more pricey, what do you think?

Being honest......I can tell you that the Cooling System Flush at Mineke is the same as what we do here at my shop. Their Flush machine is made by SPX and ours is a GM Flushe machine, which is made by SPX Kent Moore....same ****! So just use a trustworthy shop, and not a backwoods garage and you'll get the same work at a cheaper rate, but keep in mind......your Diagnostics and Transmission work should be done at a GM Pro Shop for safer liability and workmanship warranty.

For a proper flush of the cooling system my chilton's manual says that the thermostat should be removed...why is this and why do shops includind gm goodwrench dealers always tell me they dont do this when i ask?

i heard somewhere that you have to hold the rpm at 2500 for like 5 mins, then pop off the lower hose.
