Thanks, I see some inconsistencies in what I was told in the shafts were lubed not replaced and the rotors were turned not replaced. The last shaft was replaced.

Oh well. What ever. Possibly a creative service manager?

Probably what you're seeing is, with GM under Warranty Claims, you have to use the E7700 Steering Shaft replacement labor operation number when you claim a lube. So it looks like a lube and a replacement is the same labor op. Now however, if they just turn the rotors, there is a diffrent labor op for Machine Front Rotor.

The Onstar Upgrade Bulletin is a Bulletin regarding a switch from your analog Onstar equiptment to a digital reciever. For a small nominal fee, GM will replace your analog stuff with Digital stuff. Personally, I don't use my onstar, so it don't mean sh*t to me. But if you use your Onstar, you need to have it upgraded or it will cease to work.

2004 Silverado #2GCEC19V341236914

(Little scared)...lol Back when I picked this truck up a few months back, dealership TRIED (unsuccessfully) to charge me an extra $1100 for a "recondition package" that supposedly included a trans flush/filter, differential fluid change, oil, etc...One look at the oil filter told me that there was no way any of this happened (plain filthy)...then got it home and did all of this myself just to make sure it WAS done; one acronym...WTF! The trans fluid looked like it was "original" (can anyone say cottage cheese? lmao)...not something one wants to keep original, :/ Let's just say I'm not holding my breathe...there's a reason I can't wait to get the new engine and T56 swapped in!!

Thanks in advance!!

Well friend, it didn't get tagged to your VIN # under your labor ops, but usually, non-warranty work won't really show up. From what it sounds like to me, is that they tried to "snow" you. At least you were smart enought o check this when it got home with you. Some Dealers do this type of thing and it really gives us good dealers a bad name and makes people aprehensive. Anywho...here's your rundown.

Thanks for the run down! And yeah, they tried to do something. Before I bought the truck, I asked several times to see the paperwork that showed the work performed included in their "recondition package"...and they never could cough it up. First time was when I initially went to see the truck on a Saturday, but supposedly the office that controlled the requested info was out on Saturdays. Anyway, I ended up getting a really good deal on it...they wanted some $11500 out the door, and after a bit of "dealing"...I got it out the door for $8450. Just recently I was laying down a coat of wax and noticed the body side molding "paint lines", which is what really kinda got me wondering if something had really happened to the truck that I didn't know about. Your report shows though that it was indeed replaced under warranty. At any rate, thanks again for the in depth report. Definitely helped out!!!
