Are you meaning your friends "traction control" or his "ABS" is going nuts? Give me a description of the symptom that it's exhibiting, that way I can further diagnose it.

I've searched the GM SI system and there's no TSB's related to just what you have described. So if you can get me more info, Id be more than glad to help you out.

I thought it was the ABS also, but there is no light for it and when you take off and it says power reduced on the display, when it happens. he can turn off the traction control and it will be fine, but then there is a light on reminding you its off.

I wonder if its the wheel sensors in the front?

More than likely it is the front wheels speed (ABS) sensors. There is a TSB warning of contamination of the ABS sensors in the wheel hubs. So he may very well have some corrosuion on them, and need them cleaned.

Damn 6 hours away and still in VA? haha thats nuts.

I got my cables today and they told me they would only inspect my front sensor. Not fix or replace it. Is this F'd up or are they tellin the truth?

The will have to inspect it for free...yes. If they find that the ABS sensors have corrosion on them, then they will have to fix them for free because it's a saftey Re-Call from GM. If the ABS sensors don't have a corrosion build up on them then they will bolt her back up and ship it out the door.

I personally just did the ABS Sensor Inspection and cleaning on my 2006 Silverado yesterday...lol. Took me about an hour.

So, being in Va....you ever get down to the Bristol Motor Speedway to Thunder Valley for the ol' Super Chevy Show or any of the weekend warrion street races?
