Default Chevy Silverado4.8L v.s Ford Lightning 5.4L

I'm looking into making a performance truck. Would my 4.8L be able to stand up to the challenge? I'm going to through it. Heads, cams, supercharger, etc... I'm not looking for a 10 sec truck. I still want it as a daily driver. How many horses could I get out of the 4.8L? IF worse comes to worse. I can always get another truck to work on. I also want to kill ford lightnings.

www.magnacharger.com will get you in the 13's. I am sure others will offer up their opinions too.....

Do a 6.0L swap with the mods you listed and you could own a lightning easily.

Radix on a 6.0L with a FLP 4L65E tranny, 4.10 gears, and an eaton posi, 212/218 cam, and Ls6 heads, your truck will be fast then. The lighting will choke on your fumes

parish8 is the guy to ask about the limits of an FI 4.8 if you completely do a good build up with heads larger chambers and a turbo with cam most lighnings wont stand a chance unless heavily modded. I think some guys have seen around 450-500 rwhp on a complete setup. And of course you need the traction and tranny to hold up to that. get ready to spend spend spend
