4.8/4l60e. Transmission was rebuild 4,000 ago according to the seller. I first noticed the sound after driving 150 miles straight. Like rocks in the bellhousing. Can only hear it at idle and it increases with rpm. both in park/neutral and in drive with foot on the brake. I checked all around the flexplate for cracks and did some gentle prying between the flex plate and tc to see if bolts were loose. Everything checked out Ok. As I'm pulling it out of the shop I notice the sound is no longer the same, it more of a squeaking that increases with speed, like a worn pulley. If this were a problem inside the tc/flexplate would it be possible its intermittent? Its definitely not from the trans itself, I don't think its from the engine but sometimes it is hard to pinpoint these sounds.

Its the same from start up to shut down, even after its at normal temp. Maybe my mind is playing tricks but it feels like my downshifts are slightly different than before as well. It goes from a metallic clicking sound then sometimes to a slight chirp. Just trying to get some more opinions before I go farther into it without knowing exactly what it is.
