Bottom line the toyo tranny is much sronger then our 60 and 80es. That being said this why we are slower, why because, GM protects their weak *** trannys with T/M. Im sure toyo has somthing along the same lines just not so drastic as in our trucks, remove T/M and will get all of the under rated 467 FT/LBS of TQ. And also have a better E/T. But I dont know about beating the toyo with just a tune. Few other things are needed.

One thing I noticed is that Yota is running 10.2:1 compression on "87 or higher" fuel for that 5.7. So is this going to be like the escalade motors where they test and publish numbers with the 93 or 91 octane, but then if you run the 87 is detunes it quite a bit? If they are getting those numbers on 87 I'm gonna be damn impressed. Just funny because the escalade at 10:1 compression calls for 89 octane. I just want to know if Yota is that good or if they are slightly misleading (IMO).

Even on the little econo boxes it looks like Honda and Toyota are able to push their static compression ratios higher than GM is able to, yielding equiv power and better gas mileage. Sorry, I'll get off my stump now.

Ugh, if that Toyota wasn't so hideous looking I wouldn't feel bad about getting a new Tundra over a VortecMax Silverado. GM is really starting to disappoint me, they need to get more serious about supporting the customers!!!

Someone in Detroit needs to pull their head out of their *** and put in a transmission that can handle these engines, not some 1980 350. For the first time, I am truly embarrased for GM trucks.

Exactly! It is extremely disappointing. I can only hope that they turn their **** around and fast! The toyota is not that eye appealing but with all of that power, and drive train components to hold the power for $23,400 it's tough not to think real hard about buying one. It does the 1/4 in 14.1 stock, and they already have plans for a supercharged version! WTF!
