wouldnt your water only vaporize if your temps got about 212*F? but what if you just added a littlebit of coolant? i thought water had a higher specific heat than coolant, coolant just froze at a lower temp (antifreeze)

normally you only want to go to about 60/40, anymore than that and it might raise your pressure too much.

i would think that that would work, a little bit of coolant or maybe some water wetter like Goshawk and you should be fine. Your in Texas so i wouldn't think freezing would really be a worry for you.

The Orange crap does gunk up i've personally had this crap gunk up my engine in my work van and i've had it destroy a radiator and damn near the whole cooling system in another truck.

Putting the system under pressure increases the boiling point of the liquid. I think it is about a 1.5 degree increse in boiling point per point above atmospheric pressure. So, figure your at sea level, about 29.9 inches of mercury, the boiling point is 212. Then, put that "16 lb" cap on the system....236 degree boiling point......

I bought some kind of stuff a month and a half ago that is supposed to be compatible with all engines whether they use green or orange...supposedly with this stuff in my radiator i can run either one with no problems. been running green since then with no problems.
