Could I beat a 03' Mustang GT in the quarter?
One of my friends just bought a brand new 03' Mustang GT. It's stock right now (it's a standard), might have exhaust & maybe an intake, later when we go to the track.
By the time we get to go to the track (2 or 3 months) I will have Dyno Tuning (shift points 5900), Ported and Polished Throttle Body, EGR deleted, TB Coolant bypass, Dynomax Bullet Mufflers, corvette servo and 4.10 gears.
My other friend has a V6 mustang. I can put about 2 or 3 carlengths on him to 70. He said when he raced the GT from a roll from about 25-60, the GT had put 2-2 1/2 cars on him and was still gradually pulling.
Who do ya'll think will win?

with his 5 speed you're screwed....i've pulled on a few automatics but every 5 speed i've raced has pulled on me, i even drove my friend's 2001 5 speed and he drove my truck and i pulled on my own truck in his car....

From what I remember, the new GTs are suposed to run @ 13.9-14.1 stock. I raced an 03 GT in the 1/8 and with all the mods I have now exept the headers, intake, cutouts, and stall and my front bumper was even with his back bumper. In the 1/4 I think he would have beat me worse.

if hes a bad driver you have a chance, ive beat a couple of 5 speed gts i dont know how but i have maybe bad drivers....? all i had then was upd, hppp3, Tstat and i had the 20s on,..... last time a i raced i had the ASMs on and i was side by side with an lt1 camaro M6 i guess i have really bad drivers in my area because i ran an uncorrected 15.1 with the upd,hpp3,tstat and a flowmaster

I agree with the guys above, Bad driver you have a small window.
I beat a 03 gt standard to his 14.1 because I had the 1.9 60 to his 2.1, I don't get to race many street cars at the track. Usually I'm getting blown away by 11 sec F bodies or 10 sec buicks.

I don't think he shifts good. That's what I've heard. I've taken an old 96' GT w/ flowmasters from a roll going about 55. I put about 2 carlengths on him to 75.

If you go from a dead stop and he can't drive then you have a shot simply due to your better 60', but he WILL catch up eventually.
Most 5-spd GT's CAN run well into the 13's with a good driver and alot of the ones in my area run around with DR's on too so spinning isn't so much of an issue.
Just put a small n20 kit on it, thats what I am going to do
