people are thinking of the old diesels that required 16 qts of oil in a diesel oil change. things are different now. also many guys are going longer than the old days and changing filters. heck GM recomends 10K miles b/w oil changes if not heavily loaded.

I dont really mind paying $125 for a 6000-8000 mile run. Its $100 extra a year. I'll deal with it.

why the hell are you paying 125 dollars for an oil change? shell rotella oil. 300K miles in big rig motors.

12.50 a qrt for sytec
oil filter
10 quarts

shipping/tax disposal ect

it takes 5 quarts of oil for my truck and i'm pretty sure it takes 12 for my dad's...maybe 10. He usually goes about 6000k every change so I guess it does kinda even out. Good thought, didnt think of that

I changed the oil in my Duramax a couple days ago.2.5 gallons of Delvac 1 and a $7.00 Baldwin oil filter.Total was $69.00 and I used the best oil on earth for a diesel.I'll run it for 10,000 miles with a filter swap at 5k.Using Rotella or a similar mineral oil would cut the cost in half.There are truck stops around here that do oil changes on big rigs for 139 bucks.Someone is paying to much.
