Default Disconnecting throttle linkage from TB?

I'm going to get a ported and polished TB for my truck and I was looking as the linkage on the TB. The throttle linkage looks simple but how do you take of the cruise control linkage? It the black adjustable screw in piece right? It look like there's a black plastic C-clip holding it on but I didn't want to start poking and prying at it and break it, it is only plastic. Advise would be appreciated!

Hey dude, I couldn't get the C clip out, so I got a red marker and marked on the threads that were not screwed in. Then just unscrew it and it will click every half turn. Count the clicks as well and you will have 2 references to put it back in just like it came out.

Just work it off with your fingers. If you use a tool to pry it off you'll most likely break it. All it is is a tensioner for the cruise control cable. After you clip it back on, lift up the c-clip holding the spring tensioner in place. It will then take up the slack in the cable then push the c-clip back in. All done.

i used a tiny screw dricer like you would use for glasses and got up under it. look closely and there is a little piece that will not let it snap out easily like the end of a fish hook. But any ways got the little screwdriver under the flat part on the c-clip and pryed it up. have dne this about 3 times and have not broke it.

Why don't you guys just unscrew it? There is no way to break it that way!

good idea but if he is getting a ported and polished one he will need that part. unless he is porting and polishing his. But he made it sound like he was getting one and normalt they just trade you.

I am getting a new P&P TB, I will need the whole thing off the Tb. I think I will unscrew it to disconnect the TB like CashDude said then I'll remove the rest of it when I get it over to the work bench. Thanks for all the input guys!
